How’s Your Job? Week of January 28, 2018 Genesis 2:4b-9, 15-25 Exodus 31:1-18 Connect Hopefully your groups are starting to settle into a rhythm in this 3 rd week or so together.  As you share about your lives, invite your group to consider this statistic together: “From the ages of 22-65, a committed Christian will spend 2,266 hours at church and 96,000 hours at work.”  -Discuss together: How has the church equipped you (or not equipped you) to live out your faith in the workplace? Pray For the next two weeks, you might find that the “Active” measure is very appropriate for your groups to reflect on.  Asking “How am I engaged with God’s work?” is a great way to think about your spark and how it is or is not being used at work.  Most importantly, it is essential that we see being engaged with God’s work as mostly happening outside of the church walls , like in your workplace or neighborhood. Proverbs 2:1-10, Philippians 1:9-11, Ephesians 4:11-16 Week of January 21, 2018 Connect As you gather with your groups take the opportunity to catch up with each other and especially to get to know any new members of your group this time.  As you sense the time is right, ASK: Pastor Kevin talked about 5 signs that you need to find a vocation on Sunday (for your reference below)—how did any of those 5 signs really resonate with you? 1. You can’t think of anything you would write a large check to today without getting anything in return. 3. You can’t think of the last time you felt alive while volunteering or serving. 4. You do not feel stretched, challenged, or afraid in your job or volunteering. 5. You feel empty, unfulfilled, or like you’re missing something. Pray I really encourage each group to try the “pray for...

Genesis 18:10-15, Exodus 4:10-17, Colossians 3:17 Week of January 14, 2018 Connect Here we are again!  Hopefully some of your groups have new faces in them.  Take some time to get to know one another and catch up in your groups.  As your group gathers together, take some time to share your covenant once again.  If there are new people in your group, have them read and reflect on the covenant.  If your group wants to adapt or amend it, go ahead.  Remind your group that each group gathering is divided into 3 parts: Connect, Pray, Reflect When your time to connect is finishing up, ask this question: How did you decide what you were going to be when you grew up? (we’ll circle ‘round to this question towards the end of our time together.) Pray Groups were shyest or least happy about how this section of their time went.  I’d encourage your group to do 2 things to help make this time better and more meaningful: 1. Decide as a grou...
