The Lord's Supper
The Lord’s Supper
Week of March 4, 2018
John 6:26-58
Connect
This week’s focus is on The Lord’s Supper, a term that more
Baptists and non-denominational folks tend to use. As your group gathers and connects together,
invite them to consider their answer to this question:
What are you often thinking
about when you come to the communion table?
Pray
Your group has their own rhythm of prayer and how they focus
on the measures and their questions by now.
As you consider where you are in the middle of Lent, you might reflect
on the question of Trusting: Where does God Rank?
Make sure during this time that you pray for one another.
Reflect
During this time you will read sections from John 6:26-58
together.
Read John 6:32-35.
How does the idea of Christ as the host of the communion
table affect the way you think about communion?
*Who is
welcome at the table?
Read John 6:48-51.
What would you have thought if you were listening to Jesus
that day and he was saying that people should eat his flesh?
How have you seen and experienced Jesus as your bread of
life?
Read John 6:53-56.
How can the practice of the Lord’s Supper sustain you?
*Is there
something missing in worship and in your life without communion?
